SFU Rocket Science presents: Trick-or-Treating Mars Mission - an immersive educational experience designed to ignite young minds with the wonders of engineering, critical thinking, and problem-solving. Join us for a thrilling, one-day Halloween-themed Robotics Workshop designed for kids in grades 4 and 5. In this spooky adventure, they’ll build and program their own friendly trick-or-treating robots set to explore the mysterious terrain of Mars!
During this 6-hour program, budding engineers embark on a hands-on journey, engaging in a series of interactive activities to nurture their technical creative prowess. Participants will have the opportunity to learn all about how you go from an idea to a creation, using fundamental engineering practices. During this process they will build and program real robots using provided materials, creating trick-or-treating Martian Rovers!
Under the guidance of experienced instructors and mentors, young engineers will explore the principles of engineering design, robotics, coding, and working with hand tools. They will gain valuable insights into problem-solving strategies, critical thinking, and teamwork as they collaborate with their peers to overcome challenges and achieve objectives.
Our Halloween-themed Robotics Workshop is designed to ignite a love for technology and provide a strong foundation for future exploration. Since we don’t believe that the learning should stop after the workshop ends, we provide the option for your child to take home their robot and continue their exploration into coding and robotics (see ticket options). Let your child’s imagination take flight in this thrilling adventure!
